2008 was a hugh success with John Juanda taking down the WSOPE main event and the 2009 WSOPE should be even bigger.

Annette ‘Annette_15′ Obrestad from Norway was the first WSOP Europe champion. She won the final table in 2007 banking £1,000,000 and became the youngest WSOP champ in history. Also she is the female to win the main event.

Organizers believe that one day the Europe WSOP could become larger than the Las Vegas World Series of Poker.

Big name poker professionals have been coming from the united states to play in Europe since the start and most of them will continue to make the poker trip every year.

No Limit Holdem is the game that is played in the WSOPE Main Event and the the buy-in is £10,000.
